Hello

A Bit About Me

amal_web.jpg

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at Computational Biomedicine, Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine, Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ), Germany, working with Prof. Paolo Carloni. I completed my Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Arnab Mukherjee at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune, India, and was a Fulbright Visiting Research Scholar with Prof. Ioan Andricioaei at the University of California, Irvine.

My current interdisciplinary research lies at the intersection of computational chemistry and biophysics, with a focus on drug discovery and biomedical applications. Specifically, I study how biomolecules such as proteins and nucleic acids perform their functional roles through structure and dynamics, guided by the principles of statistical mechanics and quantum chemistry. I utilize computational tools, including classical and quantum mechanical/molecular mechanical (QM/MM) molecular dynamics simulations, enhanced sampling methods, and data-driven approaches to complement and predict experimental observations.
